Words from the heart in these incredible times.
Words from the heart in these incredible times.
It’s interesting in these times that when we speak with people- friends, family or even the neighbour across the street we ask “how are you?”- I even do it myself without considering what answer am I expecting!
It is an Australian traditional greeting which we all use without thinking about the response we might get which is usually “yeah good, OK” or something similar.

Pilates or Yoga? Which is for you?
At Alive we love both and believe Pilates and Yoga share many similarities while also challenging us in different ways.
There are many opinions regarding which is best for your body and a lot will depend on who you ask and which …

Starting with the Intro Offer
At Alive we understand what it’s like to be a customer faced with a multitude of choices and not quite sure where we want to spend our time and money. We get that there are so many elements to making a choice about where we exercise and that sometimes it takes a little time to feel our way.

How Do I Fit Everything In?
Have you ever had a list of things that you want and should do and yet struggle to find the time to fit it all in between everything else going on in your world?
Do you find yourself repeating this same answer to yourself and others “I would but I can’t find the time”?

New Year, New You (Again?)
Let’s face it this is the time of year when we set new rules, goals; new year resolutions. We honestly believe that this time, this year it will be different as we have procrastinated for far too long and now this is the year.

Will Yoga and Pilates help me lose weight?
I am often asked this question as people search for the magical answer to weight loss, hoping that this activity will drive their physical shape to be the one we desire (with very little effort!)

Why Reformer Pilates is good for you
When you first see a Pilates Reformer it can often feel quite scary as they do look complicated if you have never seen them before. Remember that the origin of the Reformer goes back to Joseph Pilates who developed a series of exercises to mobilise his injured body while confined to a hospital bed in the 1930’s. Joseph Pilates adapted pulleys and ropes to the hospital bed and over time successfully healed his body and then started to help others using the same methodology- and the rest is history.
